Exploring London

Today Toby used Google Earth to find his home, school, nearest town, city and Capital City. We then located famous London landmarks. We discussed London transport and about tube trains and how they work. Toby was very interested in the trains going underground and how it goes dark. Today’s afternoon finished with a session on the history of flight including videos of the first attempts to fly. Toby found these hilarious. We did some history on the Wright brothers which we all found interesting. We finished by learning about the science of hot air balloons. By that point I was boiling hot so we explored the science of ice cream melting times in our mouths! Originally Published on 20.7.2021
